If you live in the Blooming Prairie, Byron, Hayfield/Brownsdale, Kasson-Mantorville, Pine Island, Stewartville or Triton School Districts and feel that your child is not reaching these milestones, contact Colleen Johnson at (507)775-2037 or cjohnson@zumbroed.org to set up a free developmental screening. If your child is over the age of three and you have concerns, you may contact your local elementary school to seek information.
After the screening is complete, the parent and teacher will together decide on a plan of action to best help the child.
Infants and toddlers qualify for early intervention by demonstrating a delay in any of the following areas: cognitive development, physical (motor) development, including vision and hearing, communication development, social or emotional development or adaptive development. A child may also qualify for services by having a diagnosed physical or mental condition or disorder that has a high probability of resulting in delay regardless of whether the child has a demonstrated need or delay.
There is no cost for Early Intervention Services.
