Who is the contact in my district for ZED Student Enrichment Programs? Does ZED offer summer school for students?ZED sponsors the following programs for students during the summer:
Who do I contact if I think my child may have special needs that require special education services?If your child is between the ages of birth to two years old, contact the Zumbro Education District and speak to the Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator about screening and possible assessment of your child and services available. If your child is age three or older, contact your school district's Special Education Coordinator or the Early Childhood Special Education Teacher at the elementary school. How do I enroll in an ALC program?Contact your school counselor or administrator to schedule an intake meeting or contact the Zumbro Area Learning Center directly at (507)775-2083. The classes are less than 20 students per class and the program is free to students and paid for by general education revenue. You can check with your home district to see whether transportation would be provided. Can ALC students earn credits for work experience?Students can earn up to .5 credit per quarter by participating in our work experience program. They can be dismissed early to go to work on this program. Can students make up additional credits through the ALC program?Yes, we have an independent study evening program that runs from 3:00pm-5:00pm on Monday through Thursday during the school year. What is the RESULTS program all about?The RESULTS program is a middle level educational opportunity for students that focuses on thematic instruction, technology and the use of hands-on activities. It is for students who need a different type of learning environment to experience success in school. The program is free to students and paid for by general education revenue. To enroll in the RESULTS program, contact your school counselor or principal to talk about the possibility of scheduling an intake meeting. You can check with your home district to see whether transportation would be provided. Does the RESULTS program have a summer school program?Based on adequate enrollment numbers, we will offer a middle level summer program for students who attend our RESULTS program during the school year.
