School Psychologist

• Evaluations to assist teams in making educational decisions for individual students.

• Small group and/or individual counseling as a related service to special needs students.

• Consultation with school personnel regarding a variety of issues including, but not limited to:

  1. Behavior management strategies

  2. Development of appropriate prereferral interventions

  3. Appropriate modifications for individual students based on their learning profile

  4. Disability awareness

• Report and interpret evaluation results to school personnel, parents, students, and outside agencies that are part of the student's team to assist in appropriate educational placement and programming.

• Liaison with representatives of other agencies who have been involved with individual students to assist in that student's educational placement and programming.

• Provide in-services to school personnel, parents, and staff on topics including, but not limited to:

  1. Behavior management

  2. Positive discipline

  3. Effective education

  4. Child growth and development

  5. Learning theories

  6. Disability awareness

  7. Interpretation of evaluation instruments

• Consult with the district and building RTI (Response to Intervention) teams including but not limited to:

  1. Interpreting student data

  2. Sharing individual and small group intervention suggestions

  3. Assisting with intervention integrity checks
