The ZED Science Fair is open to all students in grades 4 through 6. Projects must meet the ZED Guidelines and be individual projects to qualify for the ZED Science Fair. The location of the Science Fair is rotated among the ZED schools each spring.

2026 ZED Science Fair
The 32nd Annual ZED Science Fair was held Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Byron Community Education Center.
142 4th-6th grade student scientists from Blooming Prairie, Byron, Hayfield, K-M, Stewartville and Triton, participated - our highest amount of participants post-Covid! The projects were mind-blowing - seriously unique and interesting! Our judges had a tough job, but they powered through and handed out a whopping 133 First Place Ribbons, 8 Second Place Ribbons and 1 well-deserved Participation Ribbon.
A massive THANK YOU to our incredible 18 community members and 7 Byron National Honor Society students, who volunteered as judges. You are the absolute best - this event simply couldn't happen without your amazing support!
