RAD Zoo Trip
Some of the Futures High School students participated in a field trip to the RAD Zoo in Medford. They learned about the differences in amphibians, reptiles, and crocodilians and saw over 150 different types of creatures.
ZED Science Fair
The 29th Annual ZED Science Fair was held Friday, April 14, 2023 at Triton Schools in Dodge Center. We had 109 students from our six member districts participate. When students were not having their projects judged, they attended two Oxbow Zoo presentations, Animal Classifications and Owls/Birds of Prey. It was a fun-filled afternoon.
Hwy 57 & 16th St. Roundabout Construction Detour
Beginning April 24, 2023 and going through July 2023, construction will be taking place at the intersection of Hwy 57 and 16th Street NE where a roundabout is being put in. This intersection will be closed during this time and a detour will have to be taken to access the ZED building (see below).
Detour for Highway 57 traffic traveling north:
- Turn left on 4th St. SW
- Turn right on 2nd Ave. SW
- Turn left on Co. Rd. 34 (Co. Rd. 34 turns into 8th Ave. SW/Co.Rd. 21)
- Turn right on Co. Rd. 12 which takes motorists back to Hwy 57
Hwy 57 traffic traveling south will use the same detour in reverse.
Above and Beyond Award
Ed Rasmussen (left) and Janet Splinter (right) received the 3rd Quarter Above & Beyond Awards. Ed is the ALC Science Teacher and was nominated for his volunteerism and his way of creating a positive culture. Janet is the ZED Receptionist and was nominated for her willingness to help anyone and taking on more roles in the new facility. Congratulations Ed and Janet!
