      Playground Guidelines:

Students will be given an opportunity to engage in physical activity during indoor and/or outdoor recess time through age appropriate games and organized activities.

Recess will be outdoors whenever possible, however, during cold weather, the decision to have outside recess depends upon the temperature and the wind chill factor.  The guideline is 0° air temperature and wind chill within -10° .  Parents are asked to watch the weather daily and send their children dressed for the existing conditions.  During the winter season, this includes boots, hats, jackets, mittens, and snow pants.   All students must be on the playground during outside recess.

When recess is indoors, supervised activities and opportunities for active play will be provided in the classroom.

Students will have supervised free time in the classroom on days when bad weather prevents outside recess.
