The ZED Choral Festival rotates among the seven ZED school districts. High School Choirs from these districts perform individually and then combine their talents for the finale. There is no charge to attend this event and everyone is invited for an evening of fun and entertainment.
The 2019-2020 Choral Festival was held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 7:00P.M. at Kasson-Mantorville High School.
If you were not in attendance at the annual ZED Choral Festival you missed an exceptional concert by choirs from the ZED districts! Over 450 students performed “Gospel Mass” by Robert Ray which was directed by a guest conductor, G. Phillip Shoultz, III! The conductor shared his story of hope and inspiration as he brought out the best in each of the choirs and the orchestra! Professional instrumentalists also added to the beauty and excitement of the evening! The choir directors from each of our districts work with their students to bring this beautiful music to our communities. The directors are: Blooming Prairie - Kari Bottin, Byron - Katie Krueger, Hayfield - Megan Lynch, Kasson-Mantorville - Andrew Faller & Michael Mangan, Pine Island Choir - Michael Jeffery and Pine Island Orchester - Joe Mish, Stewartville - Nicholas Johnson, and Triton - Craig Anderson. Kasson-Mantorville hosted the Choral Festival this year. We thank these directors for keeping music an important part of our students’ lives!
